About Us

 Anatomy’s Quiet Melancholy

Sketchy Bones is an exploration of finding beauty within anxiety. One phrase that sums up our work is melancholy defiance - not denying or suppressing sadness, but acknowledging it and refusing to be consumed by it. Strength in the face of adversity.

Our work is steeped in death - but death isn’t explored out of an obsession for it but as a symbol of time - its certainty, but also its uncertainty and impermanence.

Between what’s certain and the unknown there’s a fleeting, surreal moment of beauty - we call it perseverance.

On the surface, our work is anatomically inspired but underneath that, if you dig a little deeper and look a little closer, you’ll find quiet defiance. Resilience even when life feels fragile.

Creating beauty when death breathes near, persevering through anxiety - that’s the purest form of defiance and that’s what we try to capture in our work at Sketchy Bones Collective.

With a curiosity for unconventional beauty, we explore the realm of jewellery, fashion and sculpture. Our background in Architecture drives a dynamic and inventive attitude towards Art & Design, helping us discover and create innovative and sustainable methods of design and production. We blend technology with traditional jewellery handcrafting techniques - utilising CAD and 3D printing to produce our casting moulds, allowing us to create the highly detailed, high quality, handmade and unique jewellery associated with Sketchy Bones Collective.
