About Us

Sketchy Bones Collective explores the realm of jewellery, fashion and sculpture. With a curiosity for unconventional beauty, we strive to translate the peculiarity of our natural world into tangible materiality through carefully handcrafted and highly detailed jewellery.

Our background in architecture drives a dynamic and inventive attitude towards art + design, whilst aiming to discover and create innovative and sustainable methods of design and production.

Our Values

Inclusivity

Inclusivity, or inclusive design, is at the forefront of our practice. Almost all of our pieces are available in a full range of sizes, right from the smallest to the largest, without missing any size in between. We want everybody to be able to enjoy what we love making, with the assurance that Sketchy Bones Collective will have something just right for you.

Sustainability

We operate with minimal to zero waste in our workshop; this includes refining, filtering and cleaning materials or resources to re-use again and again. We also aim for our packaging to incorporate no single use plastics and be comprised mainly of recycled and recyclable materials.

Ethical Practise

We believe in sourcing materials ethically from suppliers that provide safe working conditions for their employees whilst paying a fair wage. Our jewellery does not incorporate gemstones as a huge lack of regulations in the mining industry rarely allows the ability to trace a stone to its mine. All suppliers we’ve dealt with form their ethical policies on trusting the word of a distributor and not through first hand visits to the mines; which isn’t enough proof for us.

However, boycotting the mining industry is not the full solution as miners in developing parts of the world are dependent on this custom and income. By researching ways in which we can improve the sourcing and tracing of gemstones, we hope to one day find, or create, the solution.
